SBS22 - September Blog Hop Challenge

Alright...So I did the September challenge for our SBS22 group,nothing like waiting til the end of the month huh?!?! I didn't follow the sketch design,but I did make a card for the Fall season. I haven't done cards based on a sketch yet, and had an idea for the sketch but I just couldn't make it work this time around...so maybe next time!!

So what do you think?? It reminds me of spending hours raking up the leaves, only to have the kids play in them and spread them back out. Have I mentioned I just love Tilda!! Isn't she just sooo adorable?!?!

Well, I have to spend some time figuring out how to link this to Spikes blog. If I can figure it out, I'll be back with more pics on another post!!

Home Sweet Home...

I am finally home from the hospital and it feels SOOOO good. Thank you to everyone who sent me cards, "Get Well Wishes", kept me in their prayers, called and/or came to visit me during my long stay. I am feeling better now but it will be awhile before I'm back to work -- so it looks like I will have free time to do stamping projects now ;O)

I just updated my SBS22 group...welcome Jhet, Gwen and Marge. I'm looking forward to the groups events and getting to know everyone in the coming months. Well, I'm off to catch up on everyone's blog.

I got this from my daughter...isn't the doggy cute??? We are sharing the same fashion designer today...boy are we stylish or what?!?! I still haven't figured out how to keep warm in this contraption...But the puppy sure did make me smile...THANKS MEGS LOVE YA MOM :O)

Under The Weather....

Princess Party...

Just a quick "Princess Party" birthday card I made this weekend. The little princess celebrated her first birthday, so the simpler the better I guess. (Not to mention I only had a few minutes to whip the card together on the way out the door!)

Maybe next year when she turns two, I can add more bling without worrying she will eat it!?!? :O)

A Mystery in Blogland...

A strange and funny thing has happened....

I was introduced to a special person about a year ago. It was just a casual gathering for a SU workshop when we met...nothing too intense, not a "you had me at hello" moment, but more like a quiet curiosity that lingered after our encounter.

In the months to follow we had occasion to attend happenings at the same time, not necessarily attending together, but enjoying the same events (stamping seemed to be the theme...can you imagine lol). I've learned about her family, their strong dedication and faith in God, along with some other fun tidbits of general info (she is always busy working on something to bless others with, her favorite color is green, all her sister's names start with "K" as does hers, and she likes frogs of all things - I thought they were only good for giving you warts and eating flys!!). I learned these things during stamping events, our conversations, and by reading her blog "Frog of Faith". With every day that goes by I am more intrigued and inspired by her creativeness, dedication, and faith...not to mention her wonderful personality!!

The last time we were together she did the most wonderful thing...or at least I thought so. She had hosted a SU workshop at her house (mind you the workshop wasn't hers, but for someone she knew who didn't have the room at their own home to host one) - she is also very gracious. After the workshop we were chatting about SCS RAKs, different techniques and other stamping stuff. Then before I knew it...there I was coloring a Tilda image, and not just coloring it, but coloring it with her Copic markers!! It was like Christmas in July!! (I had been sick and, up until the workshop, hadn't left my house except to see doctors in about 2 weeks.) But this night...I got to return home with a colored Tilda (who I adore), a love for Copic markers (which is now on my must have list!!), feeling better than I had when I arrived all because I got to color an image of a little girl with some very cool markers. Sounds silly doesn't it?? I know it does!! But I felt amazingly touched by her generosity, especially because the image isn't even one she has the stamp for, it was given to her and she passed it on to me!!

So to thank this special person, I made them a card... Yes..it was a green card AND had frogs on it, and not just plain frogs...but glittery frogs!! It was almost identical to the one pictured, except this card has a large blue frog instead of a green one. (Not everyone thinks frogs MUST be green LOL)
I included some images of my new Tilda stamps from the UK in the card for her to enjoy coloring and crafting with. Then I signed it with a computer smiley face (which just happens to be the same face someone else she knows uses as a trademark...unbeknownst to me). Then when I knew she wouldn't be home (thank you VBS blog info) I hung them on her front door and came back home just tickled pink and thinking of how nice it was to bless someone else with an unexpected surprise and make them smile as I had at her home that evening just a short time ago.

Seems cupcakes are popping up everywhere. Never really noticed them before BUT... now I see them everywhere... in all my favorite stores, magazines and now on my very own blog LOL. :O)

This is my first attempt at paper piecing. I love the way it came out.

I'm going to make some more "cuppies" (as I call them) out of other color combos soon. I'll post them so you can choose your favorite "cuppie color" so be on the lookout!!

I'm gonna need photography lessons!!

Well, this just hasn't been as easy I thought it would be. I haven't tried to be a photographer in many, many years...and of course Mother Nature hasn't helped, it rained all morning, and now...well I just can't seem to get the pics as good as I want, but oh well here ya go:

You can't see the Stickles on the wings in the outdoor pic, but it shows how bright and beautiful the colors are. The inside pic is dull, but it shows the sparkling wings!! So what do you think for a first time at taking pics, downloading them and all that jazz?? Yeah -- I'll keep practicing LOL!

I had soooo much fun making this card today, now I need to finish up a few I have started. Be back later...hope you like the card and thanks for looking!!

A New Adventure

So...I am attempting to create my own Blog for the first time:O). I have had so much fun (and spent waaayyyy too much time) the past few weeks reading others blogs and looking at their stamping projects that I thought I should give it a try and start my own blog too. I would love to share my creations with others who appreciate stamping and cards (especially since I was just going to be an observer and not actually make cards when the whole idea was presented to me about a year ago...THANKS MOM LOL)!! Now I seem to spend hours a day admiring others cards, techniques, and searching for stamps on the internet and that doesn't count the shopping trips and actual cardmaking I have done lately!!

The background I chose is of a harbor scene because right now I would love to be sitting somewhere quiet just listening to the water hitting the rocks with each incoming wave...no phone, no TV, just peace and quiet..awwww sounds so relaxing!! Well, maybe someday I can visit the ocean again, but for now, I'll appreciate the scene everytime I log on to this blog.

I still need to try and take a picture of a card to put on here, but for now an entry for the morning will have to do. By the way, for those who know me...just because I am submitting this entry a little after 8am IT DOES NOT signify I am a morning person........I've been awake all night!!! :o)
